Helen Polly and her tiny band of spirited misfits
Helen Polly is an autistic woman with a very unique set of skills: she can see and interact with spirits. In her youth, she discovered that cannabis helped calm the chaos of the afterlife, giving her brief peace from the ghosts that crowded her world. But that tranquility only lasts as long as the high — a temporary fix for a permanent problem. These days, Helen lives in her trusty purple skoolie (which, depending on who you ask, might be violet or lavender or...), cruising the country as a nomadic medium. She’s got two permanent passengers: a drag queen from the '80s who never lets up on the sass, and a giant, fluffy dog that’s a mix between a Kodiak bear, a yak, and maybe an old English sheepdog — or is he something more?Helen's journey is a form of escape — from her controlling, abusive mother in California and a dark secret she’s running from. Unfortunately, her mom’s hired a private investigator to track Helen’s every move, and that’s a problem when you’re trying to stay off the grid.In season one, Helen finds herself in Memphis, Tennessee, where she picks up another restless spirit: the ghost of a young woman whose untimely death seems suspicious. With time ticking down before the PI catches up with her, Helen must solve the mystery, cross the spirit over, and expose the truth before things get too complicated. Along the way, Helen meets a butcher, a hotel housekeeper, an inquisitive cop, and more — each with their own part to play in the eerie puzzle she’s racing to solve.Join Helen and her spirited friends in this hilarious paranormal caper!
